Tempora was founded by Khun Arun Pattanasin, a watchmaker who trained in Switzerland before returning to Bangkok in the early 2000s. After several years working in larger service centres, he opened a small independent workshop on Sukhumvit Road in 2009 — a place where the pace was set by the work rather than the calendar.
The name Tempora comes from the Latin for "times" — not in the sense of speed, but in acknowledgement that a watch is a record of time. Each piece that arrives at the bench carries some history: a date of purchase, a memory, a connection to someone. That context shapes how the work is handled.
The workshop has remained on the same block for over fifteen years. The tools have been updated; the approach has not. Every watch receives a written assessment, and no work proceeds without the owner's understanding and agreement.
What guides the bench
Tempora exists to keep mechanical and quartz timepieces running well and to preserve the character of pieces that have aged. The workshop does not aim to be the largest or the fastest. The aim is straightforward: that each watch returned to its owner is in better condition than when it arrived, and that the owner understands exactly what was done and why.

Arun Pattanasin
Founder & Lead Watchmaker
Trained in Switzerland, Arun handles all mechanical servicing and leads assessments on vintage pieces. He has been working on movements of all calibres for over twenty years.
Nattaya Kongkrai
Case & Dial Specialist
Nattaya focuses on case refinishing and dial work, with particular attention to vintage pieces. She approaches each restoration with caution, preserving as much of the original surface as possible.
Pichit Thongchai
Quartz & Seal Technician
Pichit manages quartz servicing and water-resistance checks. He handles most battery and gasket renewals and coordinates the workshop's parts sourcing for everyday wear pieces.

These are the protocols that shape how every piece moves through the workshop, from drop-off to collection.
Written Assessment
Every watch is assessed on arrival and a written condition note prepared. This note travels with the piece and is handed back with the watch on completion.
Scope Agreement
The scope of any service is agreed in writing before work begins. No additional work is undertaken without the owner's knowledge and consent.
Correct Lubricants
Only lubricants specified for the movement type are used. The grade and application point are recorded for reference at the next service interval.
Timegrapher Verification
All mechanical movements are checked on a timegrapher after reassembly. Amplitude, beat error, and rate are recorded and included in the condition note.
Parts Retention
Original parts removed during a service are held and returned to the owner at collection unless disposal is explicitly requested.
Secure Handling
Pieces in the workshop are stored in individual labelled trays. Customer details are kept on-site in a paper register and are not shared with third parties.
Watchmaking in Bangkok's Sukhumvit district
Tempora has operated on Sukhumvit Road since 2009, providing mechanical movement servicing, vintage case restoration, and battery and seal renewal to owners across Bangkok and beyond. The workshop serves collectors, everyday wearers, and those who have inherited a piece and want to understand its condition before deciding on next steps.
Mechanical watches — particularly self-winding and manual-wind movements — benefit from periodic servicing to maintain accurate timekeeping and protect the longevity of their components. Over time, lubricants dry or migrate, and small tolerances can shift. A full disassembly and service addresses these changes and gives the owner a clear picture of the movement's current state.
Vintage case work requires a different kind of attention. Many older pieces have original lacquered dials, hand-applied indices, and case surfaces that carry the character of their age. Tempora's approach to restoration is conservative by default: the aim is to stabilise and clean rather than to refinish indiscriminately. Any further work is discussed case by case.
For quartz watches in regular use, a timely battery replacement — paired with a gasket check and water-resistance test — keeps the movement running and the case protected. The workshop stocks cells for a wide range of common quartz calibres and carries out the service with the same attention given to mechanical work.
