From the people who brought their watches in

Bangkok · Mechanical Servicing

Brought in my grandfather's manual-wind watch that had been sitting in a drawer for years. The assessment was thorough and the estimate straightforward. Picked it up nine days later with a handwritten note explaining what was found inside and what the timegrapher showed. It's now running within a few seconds a day — better than I expected for a watch of that age.

Expat, Sathorn · Battery & Seal Renewal

Dropped off my dive watch for a battery change. They replaced the cell, checked the gaskets, and ran a water-resistance test before I left — same day. That last bit made the difference; previous places I'd used didn't do the pressure test as standard. Worth the trip to Sukhumvit.

Thonglor · Vintage Restoration

Had a 1960s piece with a damaged dial and a case that needed some attention. Arun was clear about what was possible and what should be left as it is — I appreciated that. The actual work took a bit longer than the initial estimate due to sourcing, but I was kept informed. The watch came back with the original hands and crown intact, which was important to me.

Asoke · Mechanical Servicing

I've been to a couple of other places in Bangkok for watch servicing and the experience here was noticeably different. They took time to explain what the assessment showed before giving me a price. The written note at collection is a nice touch — it shows the timegrapher readings so you know what you're walking away with. Will bring my other watches here.

Phrom Phong · Battery Renewal

Straightforward battery swap handled quickly and without any fuss. The gasket was also checked and the water-resistance confirmed. Small thing, but they cleaned the case exterior too before handing it back. Good service, reasonable price.

Silom · Vintage Restoration

Brought in a steel-cased dress watch from the 1950s with significant wear on the case flanks. Rather than polishing it back to looking new, the workshop suggested a more measured approach — cleaning and stabilising, with polishing only on the worst scratches. That matched exactly what I wanted and the result preserved the piece's character well.

Case Studies

A closer look at three services

Case 01 — Mechanical Servicing

Self-winding movement running fifteen minutes slow per day

The situation

A 1980s automatic watch, worn daily for over a decade without a service. The owner noticed increasing rate deviation — roughly fifteen minutes slow over twenty-four hours. The watch had also become reluctant to wind when stationary overnight.

The work

Full movement disassembly and cleaning. The mainspring showed fatigue and was replaced on discussion with the owner. Barrel and keyless works cleaned, all pivots lubricated, and the movement reassembled. Timegrapher check carried out at two positions.

The outcome

Rate returned to approximately +4 seconds per day at crown-up position. Full power reserve restored. Duration: eight working days. The owner received the timegrapher readings alongside the condition note at collection.

"I'd been meaning to get it serviced for years. The results spoke for themselves — the watch is now as accurate as it probably ever was."
Case 02 — Vintage Restoration

1960s dress watch with water damage to dial and corroded crown tube

The situation

An inherited piece, not worn for thirty years. The dial showed moisture spotting near the twelve o'clock position, the crown tube was corroded, and one of the hour markers had lifted slightly at one edge.

The work

Case and movement separated for assessment. The crown tube was sourced and replaced after confirmation with the owner. Dial moisture carefully addressed without removing the dial text. The lifted marker was re-adhered. Case flanks cleaned; no polishing applied at the owner's request.

The outcome

Dial spotting reduced significantly. Crown function restored. Original case surface and patina preserved. Duration: three weeks (including parts sourcing). All original parts not reused were returned to the owner.

"The workshop was patient with questions and realistic about what could and couldn't be improved. The result kept the character of the piece intact."
